CALL FOR ARTISTS – MYARTSPACE / LONDON CALLING

Artwork now being accepted online for a juried competition to have work of three winners represented at the Scream London Gallery the week of June 23rd, 2009. Artists must be a member of
myartspace. Membership to myartspace.com is free. Registration for the competition is discounted to $25 until March 31, 2009 and then rises to the normal price, $50. Last date for registration and submission is May 15, 2009. Prestigious jury panel will select 50 finalists and 3 winners. Jury consists of Vanessa DesClaux, The Tate Modern/London, Tom Morton, curator at the Hayward Gallery/London and contributing editor at Frieze, and Francesco Manacorda, Curator, the Barbican Art Gallery/London. Winners will be announced the first week of June, 2009. Winners art will be flown to London by MYARTSPACE and represented at the Scream London Gallery.

2009 CPW’s artist workspace residency program

Center For Photography at Woodstock NY is now accepting applications for Woodstock A-I-R, CPW’s artist workspace residency program for artists of color working in the photographic arts.

Five participants will be selected to have residencies of 2-4 weeks and will be provided;

* housing
* 24/7 access to CPW’s workspace facilities
* honorarium
* food & travel stipend.

This year’s event will honor CPW’s 2008 Vision Award Honorees, photographer Lilo Raymond and Neil C. Trager founding director of the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz and feature CPW’s 30th annual benefit auction of contemporary and classic photographs featuring 78 contemporary and classic photographs.

Auction proceeds directly support the creative programs of the Center for Photography at Woodstock, a not-for-profit arts and educational organization. Please support the arts.
